Having grown up in Santa Barbara, California and now married, raising two boys and two dogs, I am continually experiencing the world around me in new ways and am inspired by it daily. I love to create and paint, I hand paint each ceramic piece and note card, I make and paint tile, as well as put to use the age-old craft of Cast Molds. While the painted designs on my pieces are never exactly the same, hand poured cast molds allows for consistent ceramic shapes and sizes. But look closely; you will see that even with this process, each piece shows loving human touch (not always intentional). Next, each green ware piece is carefully cleaned, smoothed and bisque fired to create the canvas for my modern twist on timeless old world provincial style. This is where I have fun and play with shape, flow and design. After painting my designs, I do a final glaze fire to bring out the color, luster, and character of the finished piece that is a creation of unique work of art to be enjoyed for it’s beauty and also very often practicality.

From the beginning to the end of each creation more than practical beauty is kept in mind. Excluding specific custom work, special attention is given to assure that all paints and glazes, used on Quixotic Creations’ ceramics, are non-toxic and food safe, as well as dishwasher and microwave safe.
